BOAS Auditing
Compliance OHS have a long history working in partnership with the Bus and Coach Association. Transport safety is a key priority for the NSW Government
and the purpose of the Bus Operator Accreditation System (BOAS) is to ensure safe and reliable passenger bus services to the travelling public of NSW. It is
a legislative requirement that all operators are a part of the scheme. Compliance OHS provide BOAS certification audits for bus operators.

The BOAS is the key measure through which the Ministry of Transport (MoT) fulfils its responsibilities with regard to bus services under the Passenger
| TransportAct 1990.
From 1 July 2005, a 3 year renewable accreditation process applies for NSW bus operators. Performance under the BOAS will be |
measured through an audit process which involves operators:

• performing annual self-assessments;
• undergoing an independent audit at least once during the three year period of accreditation; and
• random and targeted audits by the MoT compliance officers.

The objective of a BOAS audit is to confirm:
• compliance with the BOAS pursuant to the Passenger Transport Act;
• that conditions of accreditation are being met;
• systems are tested and checked; and
• that bus operators understand their obligations with regard to the BOAS

Compliance OHS has several certified Auditors that can complete certification audits and assist with accreditation. Compliance OHS can also assist
companies that require assistance in developing and implementing systems to be ready for the audit process. The effectiveness and efficiency of bus
operations are improved as a result of the accreditation process.
